Protein-Packed Tea Lattes Set To Revolutionize Richmond’S Tea Scene

A new wave of tea innovation is brewing in Richmond, with Suna Wellness collaborating with the renowned Paragon Tea Room to introduce a unique line of protein-infused tea lattes. Known for their expertise in tea and wellness, the two brands aim to combine the health benefits of protein and collagen with the soothing qualities of tea.

While protein drinks like shakes, coffee, and powders have become mainstream, Suna Wellness is redefining the concept by offering protein tea lattes, designed to provide a delicious and easy way for tea lovers to incorporate essential nutrients into their daily routine.

Michelle Cheung, co-founder of both Suna Wellness and Paragon Tea Room, explained that the inspiration for these protein-packed lattes came from a growing interest in combining green tea with protein. She noted that many consumers are looking for ways to consume protein without the “gross taste” often associated with powders. “We wanted to find a way to integrate protein and collagen into tea without the hassle of adding supplements,” Cheung said.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an increased focus on health and wellness, with more people becoming mindful of their diets and nutrition. Suna Wellness’s protein tea lattes aim to meet this demand by offering a straightforward, tasty solution that includes 20g of protein and 10g of collagen per serving.

The lattes come in four distinct flavours: Earl Grey, Royal Milk Tea, Dark Roast Hojicha, and Paragon’s signature Ceremonial Matcha. In addition to supporting muscle recovery through protein, the collagen component is renowned for its benefits in improving skin elasticity and promoting overall well-being.

Unlike the bubble tea market, which has already embraced protein drinks, Cheung emphasized that Suna Wellness is focused on delivering a nutrient-dense product that highlights the high-quality, antioxidant-rich tea leaves sourced from Japan. “Paragon does not cheap out on tea,” she added.

Suna Wellness is gearing up for a Kickstarter launch in March, but before that, they will be hosting free tasting events at Paragon Tea Room in Richmond. The drinks will also be available for a limited time on the menu, allowing tea enthusiasts to sample the new, protein-infused offerings firsthand.
