RM Refresher Milk Tea Recalled Over Undeclared Milk Allergen Risk

RM Refresher, a popular instant milk tea brand known for its wide flavor selection on Amazon, has issued a major recall after a critical labeling oversight was discovered.

More than 2,000 packages of RM Refresher Instant Milk Tea—including flavors like Brown Sugar, Matcha, Taro, Honeydew, and Original—are being pulled from shelves due to undeclared milk-derived ingredients.

The issue was flagged during an inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which found that the tea’s non-dairy creamer contained whey and caseinate—both milk proteins.

However, the packaging failed to list “milk” as an allergen, violating federal labeling laws and posing a serious health risk to those with milk allergies or sensitivities.

The recall, announced by R&M Trading LLC of Lakewood, WA, applies to 1-pound and 3-pound packs sold on Amazon between November 18, 2024, and May 7, 2025. Affected consumers are advised not to consume the product and should return it for a full refund.

So far, no illnesses have been reported, but the undeclared allergen could trigger severe, potentially life-threatening reactions in sensitive individuals.

Here is a summary of the affected RM Refresher products:

While RM Refresher has built a loyal customer base with its easy-to-make, flavorful milk teas, this incident underscores the critical importance of accurate allergen labeling. Until packaging is corrected, milk-allergic consumers should avoid the product altogether.
