The globally recognized bubble tea brand HeyTea is set to make its Edinburgh debut, bringing its signature “New Style Tea” to the heart of the city.
The new shop will open at 32–33 South Bridge, nestled between Ladbrokes and Ikigai Ramen Southbridge, in the space formerly occupied by HI TEA, another bubble tea cafe that has since closed.
HeyTea, which originated in China, has rapidly gained international fame for revolutionizing the traditional tea-drinking experience.
Known for creative combinations like fruit teas topped with cheese foam, and milk teas enhanced with fresh fruit and bold ingredients, HeyTea has positioned itself as a modern tea brand for adventurous and youthful palates.
The application for new signage at the South Bridge location was submitted to Edinburgh Council in February and officially approved by the end of March. The storefront will soon feature HeyTea’s contemporary branding as part of its expansion into Scotland.
This will be HeyTea’s second location in Scotland, following a successful launch in Glasgow on Byres Road, where customers reportedly queued for hours around the block on opening day, according to TikTok user @theolivetreefamily.
The brand has already established a strong presence in major UK cities like London and Manchester, and operates in countries including Australia, the United States, Canada, and throughout Asia.
